Headaches be gone!!

If you’ve been following me for the past month or so you know that I’ve recently been fighting headaches. I NEVER used to get headaches, but for some reason over the past 3-6 months they have been increasing from maybe once per month, to now nearly every day. I was figuring it was hormonal when it was about once a month, but began to question it as it increased. Not that I think/thought it was anything serious, but I’m a believer that our body ailments are its way of telling us something is off. I’m also a believer that most of our health issues can be healed by diet. But I felt I had made just about every dietetic tweak that could cause my headaches, and nothing was working.

My family sees an Osteopathic Physician who is absolutely amazing.  She completely diagnoses and treats all of our health issues with natural and homeopathic methods. She’s all about getting to the ROOT of the problem and not covering it up with more problems (aka: drugs). It’s all about healing from the inside – out!

So, I walked into her office today WITH a headache and left WITHOUT one – drug free! She did her manipulative “magic” and my headache literally disappeared in her hands. Here’s a snippet of our conversation as she was “working” on me:

Me: “So, the cause of the headaches?”

Doc: “Stress.”

Me: “But I don’t FEEL stressed.”

Doc: “Well, maybe you should.”

While it sounds funny, I totally get it. I know that I have a really high coping mechanism that lets me just go, go and go forever (like the little pink bunny), but that’s not always a good thing. I know myself and if I don’t be sure to make the time to slow down, my body is going to internalize the stress somehow.

So, I asked her what I could do and she suggested yoga. I’ve tried yoga a few times and I really liked it, but for scheduling conflicts or whatever reasons I just never kept going. I think it sounds like a fantastic idea and I’m looking forward to finding a class! I look forward to sharing that with you as well as any other stress coping techniques that I can come up with!

For now,

Namaste and good night!
